My humans are trying to help me keep a photo journal of my adventure. Click on a link when you see it to visit my Flickr site and check out my latest photo sets. A few photos might be somewhat graphic, so if you are queasy about surgery or medical photos please skip those sets. I’d love to know what you think or answer any questions. So don’t be shy!
Month 2 and 3: Photos from Fall 2011
I’ve been busy. Back to my normal self, I have been digging, chasing the ball and my pack. I volunteered to be a spokesdog for Texas Sporting Breed Rescue and they have kept me VERY busy meeting and greeting folks. I have also been sharing the message about being different and loving each other for who we are, not how we look.
Kids LOVE the stump!
My Third Week: Photos from My First Swim
Eating, playing, going on outings! Tomorrow 9/13 is my free to go swimming day…I hope. I can’t wait to try out my sleeker design. I’m pretty sure I am more aerodynamic. Stay Tuned
My Second Week: Photos from days 7-13
My second week was REALLY!!! tough. Although I am ready for whatever you humans throw at me fun wise, I just don’t have my garbage disposal gut in working order. So mom put in a service call on Monday 9/5/11 to the plumber…Dr.H. That guy is pretty amazing. He’s also a carpenter, and electrician, a dentist, and apparently a chef!
Anyhow, we did some exploring and found that I had been invaded by some little green men. Or purple in this case apparently. Doc said my white count was over 24,000. Don’t know what that is because I am black! I also got my sutures out and man does that feel better.
So Dr. H fixed me up with some special medications..Ciprofloxin, Carafate, and Pepcid and told mom to get creative and cook me whatever I wanted. Gamma said I’m fakin and just wanted to see what mom would come up with. The only bad part is mom is an expert at divide and conquer at pill time. YUCK!
Here’s some of my weeks menu. I convinced mom if she’d let me play a little ball and hang out on the deck before each meal, my appetite might just kick up.
- Marinated chicken breast with gluten free elbow pasta and peas and carrots (I passed on the peas!)
- Grilled beef fajitas..eh not so much.
- No yolk noodles and leg quarters boiled together with some secret seasoning. The noodles rock. I liked it at fist but then my auntie added broccoli and that was not happening. So I showed them and just refused to east for 2 days.
- Tuna steaks with fresh herbs grilled medium. Don’t tell her but I actually tried to counter surf…hey y’all can someone give me some tips on 3 legged rule breakin?
- Potatoes and chicken strips grilled. This was the BOMB! But I waited till mom saw I liked it Friday morning and went to Dan’s meat market in Denton (they are the BEST) and bought 10lbs of each to tell her Saturday morning that kibble kinda sounded yummy.
So…I have officially ended my hunger strike and have agreed to eat my special Lamb and Rice again. Thanks mom!
Since I made her so happy eating, she kindly agreed to allow me to bark before suppertime again. Isn’t life great!
